The newest MoCoGenSo publication is 92 pages, and contains a listing of approximately 6200 adult residents living in the Townships in Monterey County.  It is sorted by last name within each township, and in most cases lists their occupation and residence.  The information was abstracted from the San Jose City Directory, which included Santa Clara, San Mateo, Santa Cruz, San Benito, and Monterey Counties for 1889.
